I remember the first time that an antique shared its energy with me, or maybe it was just the first time that I actually noticed. I was in an antiques and energyantique furniture store and saw an attractive kitchen hutch made out of quarter sawn oak.

It was probably built between 1905 and 1910, stood about 5 feet tall, had lots of shelves and beautiful original glass windows. While the piece was attractive, I found that I couldn’t make myself go near it; I was having a visceral reaction to a piece of furniture!  I was so stunned by my reaction to an inanimate object that I sat down at a nearby table to observe the hutch from a distance and try to understand what I was experiencing.

All of a sudden in my mind’s eye, I saw the color hunter green and a man standing in a pool of blood in front of the hutch.  The man looked to be in his mid 40’s -50’s, clean cut, wearing a business suit and shoes that would signify the 1950’s or 60’s. I had never seen a vision like that before and was a little freaked out, but also calmly intrigued.  Certainly if a gruesome scene like this had happened in front of the hutch, I supposed that the energy could be carried through the years in the wood and glass.

Just then another customer came over, looked at the hutch and said, “Whoa!  What do you think happened near that piece of furniture? I don’t know what it was, but it was something bad!” I was thankful that this gentleman had come by and validated that there was energy attached to the furniture and that I was sensing the energy correctly.

Now before I buy something that was previously owned by someone else, I sense the energy to see if there’s anything attached to it that I don’t want in my home. Through my studies I have learned that I can clear this energy if I choose to.

I am thankful for my antique reading experience 15+ years ago.  It was one of the stepping stones in my energetic path…  before I ever could have dreamt I would even have a path.
